  3. Is it ok to miss my bottling date?
We realize that life happens, and it is hard to forecast your schedules 4 to 6 weeks in advance. Therefore if you cannot keep your scheduled appointment, please call us ahead of time to re-book. Your wine will actually start to "break down" if left here filtered in our containers for too long.

  4. Can I make wine or beer to offer for sale at a special event?
No. Any beer or wine you make can not be sold. 2. How long before my event should I make my wine?
It would be ideal to make your wine a minimum 4 months prior to your event, to ensure you will have a quality product to serve to your guests. If you are under a tighter timeline, we do have wines we can suggest to you that do not require as much aging time, but your selection will be limited.

When you return home with your bottled wine, you should let it stand for a few days before you lay it on it's side. Once you lay the bottles down, you should try to store it at about 55°F (15ºC) with as little temperature variation as possible, in a dark place with no vibrations.

  6. Does my wine kit come with labels?

  7. When I make a batch of wine do I have to crush grapes?
No. Here at Bordertown, we found it next to impossible to get the red grape stains off of our feet, so we began using wine kits from Vineco. The advantage of a kit is that it is easier to handle (less weight) the grapes are already processed, and the final product is much more consistant from batch to batch.
